Chef, Instructor and Cooking School owner, Janice Thomas found her passion early in life, when at an early age she would help her mother in the kitchen making every kind of baked good you can imagine as well as famously delicious jams. Her affinity for quality came from growing up with the freshest flavors in her homeland of Oregon.
After opening the Savory Spoon Cooking School in 2004 in Door County, WI, where she fills classes year after year, she decided to venture abroad. She hosts Culinary and Cultural trips to Italy, France and China. After visiting Siena, Italy she fell in love with the delectable taste of Panforte, the famous confection created in Italy in the 15th century. She decided that we needed a Panforte made in the USA and one in particular that used the highest quality fruits and nuts, (no raisins used) like the locally grown Montmorency cherries of Door County WI. She is an artisan producer in Wisconsin and proud to be offering her Panforte at Cheese Shops and Gourmet Grocers across the United States.
